In 1988, Bishop Cecil Bishop tasked Charles H. Jackson, Sr., with starting a new church in the Metro Atlanta area. The Church was named New Life African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. The first service was held on February 19, 1989, at Booker T. Washington High School. On that day, five souls were won for Christ. During the next two years, New Life held worship at four different locations as God revealed them, including Rush Memorial Church and the Phyllis Wheatley YWCA.
The church grew, and on May 3, 1991, the members of New Life A.M.E. Zion Church purchased the property at 3300 Roosevelt Highway, College Park, Georgia. The campus of New Life was increased in December of 1996 when the members purchased six acres adjacent to the church.
The Church has been led by the following appointed Pastors:
We are a family of believers committed to reflecting the love of Christ everywhere we go. Through intentional discipleship, genuine fellowship, and compassionate outreach, we strive to strengthen families, uplift our community, and plant seeds of eternal love, joy, hope, and peace in our children's hearts. Our mission is simple: to live out Christ’s love in a way that transforms lives and draws others closer to Him.
“A new command I give you: Love one another.’ As I have loved you, you must love one another. ‘By this, everyone will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.” John 13:34-35
